Default Cold Air Intake

I bought a 2015 GT (5.0) used a few months ago. It already has a K&N cold air filter, the conical shaped one. It's quite dirty, and wonder if rather than buying the solution to wash it, it's better to replace it with a new one, for yes, some extra dollars, or switch to an even higher flow product? My default is to call up JC Pony Parts and American Muscle to see what they have.
